The 63rd Independence Celebrations at Horizon Kids Centre were marked with great joy, patriotism, and a strong sense of national pride. The event provided learners with a meaningful opportunity to learn about Uganda’s journey to independence while celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage in a child-friendly and engaging way.
The day was characterized by vibrant performances from the pupils, including traditional dances, poems, songs, and drama reflecting Uganda’s diverse cultures and shared national values. Dressed in cultural attire and national colors, the children confidently showcased their talents, creativity, and understanding of unity, reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to holistic child development.
Through guided discussions and presentations, learners were introduced to the importance of independence, freedom, and responsible citizenship. Teachers used the celebration as a learning moment to instill values of love for country, respect, unity, and responsibility, aligning with the school’s vision of nurturing morally upright and purposefully skilled citizens.
The celebrations concluded in an atmosphere of gratitude and reflection, acknowledging God’s guidance and blessings upon the nation, in line with the Centre’s motto, “The Lord is My Shepherd.” The 63rd Independence Celebrations at Horizon Kids Centre were not only festive but also educationalstrengthening patriotism, confidence, and a sense of belonging among the learners.
